thewoods后面用is还是are

后边用are，例如：

1、The woods are lovely，dark and deep.这树林真可爱，黝黑而深邃.

2、The woods are remnants of a huge forest which once covered the whole area.这片树林只是剩下的一部分，原来这一带是一大片森林。

3、The woods were designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.这片森林被划定为超级自然美景区。
